It’s a 24v hydraulic hoist meant for bathing Hospital patients. The second I saw it out in our scrap pile I knew I could use this. Max capacity is 700lbs but I don’t think I’ll tax it that much. The heaviest Trike I own is 360lbs. I love the stuff Hospitals toss out.

So that’s why all those LS1 swaps are happening at my hospital...

That’s fantastic!
The arm looks a bit too short for engine swaps, but it should suit your needs just fine. Why on earth was it in a scrap pile?

They said the battery wouldn’t take a charge anymore. They had some money left in the budget so it got the heave ho.
I’m going to stuff it in the shop to help restoring the 3 wheelers. It’s perfect to hang a frame or move an engine with.

The thought that they would have to build a hoist for people and have it be capable of hoisting 700 lbs...

Get 1 for each corner and you could lift small cars!

I ALMOST did this. We had one because of my dad, but we used it so little that I couldn’t justify it...too nice a shape...even though I really wanted to. We got it for free from someone else who died recently from the same thing so we passed it forward again to another family. It will probably end up doing this work though, so that makes me happy.

Max is 700lbs. Its safe rating is 500.
Everything in a Hospital is a bit overbuilt. Beds, chairs, tools.. “Hospital Grade” is the actual label. It may as well be “Built in 1950". It’s all rebuildable too. Even office chairs.

That makes me want to switch gears. If I can snag the charger for it I may have to pay it forward.

No intent to guilt, I think its great its being used, especially if the hospital doesn’t need it anymore. I got really close to doing this for my boat, but it was in like new condition and I just couldn’t.
